Tough Job Market? Consider the Insurance Business

As the unemployment rate soars, this year's class of college graduates will enter one of the toughest job markets in years. According to a new report from the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), recent graduates will exit campus with fewer jobs in hand than their 2008 counterparts1. A separate NACE survey revealed that employers expect to hire 22 percent fewer graduates than in 20082.

Fortunately for graduates and others looking to make a career change, the job market for insurance agents is expected to grow over the next five years. The U.S. Department of Labor predicts the need for insurance agents will grow 12 percent through 20183.

If the idea of a future in the insurance business is new, you're not alone. Many of our most successful agents never planned to pursue insurance careers. Today, they can't imagine doing anything else as rewarding and fulfilling. Hear their stories.

The growing demand for insurance agents isn't the only reason to consider making a career change to become an agent with Farm Bureau. Check out these other
